If you are a new Clinical Supervisor in a practice that is not an approved Clinical Learning Environment or an Educational Supervisor that has moved to a practice that is not approved, the Clinical Learning Environment Approval Form will need to be completed and submitted.

The Quality Team will arrange for your Patch Associate Dean to conduct a remote meeting with your practice. Your Practice Manager should be present for this meeting.

This guidance document sets out the KSS process by which Clinical Learning Environments in primary and community care are accredited by the Training Hubs and how this is supported by both the Primary Care Department and the Quality Team.

Integrated Training Post approval

The GPST ITP Form should be completed in full by a GP Training Programme Director. The TPD must check with the GMC whether the location is approved for doctors in postgraduate training, and mark this on the form. The GMC’s list of approved programmes and locations can be found using their website.
