South East 0-19 Workforce Project

South East 0-19 Workforce Project – Working across the south east

Welcome to the South East Health Visiting and School Nursing Workforce page

Health visitors and school nurses are specialist community public health nurses and an essential part of the community nursing profession. They support, promote, and protect the health and wellbeing of babies, children and young people aged 0 to 19 years.

Our vibrant and dedicated public health nursing workforce in the South East provide health visiting and school nursing services to babies, children and young people by leading the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme.

There are a range of opportunities to join this workforce in the South East and this project aims to support and expand the current health visiting and school nursing teams in the region by:

  • Supporting those who wish to train as school nurses or health visitors
  • Supporting those who wish to return to practice in these roles
  • Recognising and developing those already in these vital roles
  • Promoting health visiting South East jobs and school nursing South East jobs for those already qualified
