Who are the deanery and what do they do?

The education of all doctors in a training programme in the region is the KSS deanery. They work with national bodies, like the GMC and Royal Colleges, to ensure everyone gets the training they need. The following short video explains more about this process.

So how do the deanery actually administer our education?

The deanery have a variety of clinical managers who help the region run day to day. All of these individuals work part of their week as doctors in clinical posts, and part with the deanery team. They are supported by specialist administrators with experience in medical education. This video explains in more detail. It is only two minutes and 28 seconds long!

How is my education managed in my trust?

Similarly to the deanery, each trust has a group of clinicians that are responsible for your education. They are supported by a group of managers and administrators. This video outlines how this system works.

Where can I find out more?
