Supported Return to Training (SRTT)

Supported Return to Training – also known as SuppoRTT or SRTT supports all registrars who are returning after time out of programme. This might include taking a year out to pursue other academic interests, maternity or parental leave and sick leave.

SRTT is managed by the KSS Professional Support and Wellbeing Service (PSWS) with local champions to support each region.

What is ‘SuppoRTT’?

The Kent, Surrey and Sussex SuppoRTT programme aims to support all GPSRs to safely and confidently return to training after a sustained period of absence.

The programme applies to all GPSRs absent for 3 months or more, regardless of the reason. Those absent for a shorter period may also opt in. As returning GPSRs are a diverse group, SuppoRTT aims to provide a bespoke, individualised package for each returning trainee, rather than a single “one size fits all” approach.

If you are a KSS GPSR interested in registering for SuppoRTT ahead of a planned absence, please complete the online form with support from your Educational Supervisor and/or Training Programme Director.

If you have any questions or need further information, please contact the programme manager at England.SRTT.KSS@nhs.net or your local SuppoRTT Champion.
