Dr Jane Roome

HEE KSS Simulation Fellow Lead

I am a GP and work in Sussex and have additional roles as GP Tutor for West Kent, Deputy Chair of West Kent Training Hub and am the Faculty Education Lead for the RCGP SE Thames region. I am also on the Executive Committee of the Association for Simulated Practice in Healthcare (ASPiH). I am passionate about the benefit of simulation training for all Primary Care staff, including reception and administrative colleagues. I am incredibly proud of the faculty and how we have developed over the last few years and excited for our ongoing work and planned pilots

Dr Caroline Sweeney

HEE KSS Simulation Fellow – Kent & Medway

I am a GP in Tunbridge Wells and the Simulation Fellow for Kent. I am currently doing the Post Graduate Certificate in Simulation at Brighton University. I have a special interest in women’s health particularly perinatal mental health and menopause. Being part of the faculty has been an amazing experience and a continuous learning journey. It’s also great fun! Outside of work I love CrossFit, reading and piano.

Dr Rachel Phillips

HEE KSS Simulation Fellow – Sussex

I will be the Simulation Fellow for Sussex from September. I am looking forward to studying PG Cert at Brighton and introducing Simulation sessions to practices across Sussex. I am a partner in Tonbridge, specialising in women’s health and care navigator pathways. Outside of work I am learning French, I love swimming, yoga and playing tennis.

I am a salaried GP in Sevenoaks. I was previously a Medical SpR in Diabetes and Endocrinology. I have two children that keep me busy outside of work. I enjoy both the emergency care skills and amateur drama aspect of SIMS and am thrilled to be part of such an amazing faculty.

Caroline Greenfield

I work as a Practice Nurse Manager in Mid Sussex. I have special interests in women’s health, dementia and cancer care and do additional work as a Clinical Nurse Specialist for Macmillan based in our trust.
I became involved in the faculty after attending a Emergency Simulation day which was so amazing and completely taken some anxiety away from emergency situations in general Practice.
I have a husband, dog and 2 daughters one a nurse and the other a student nurse who share my passion for patient care.

I am a Pharmacy Technician working in General Practice having previously worked in hospital pharmacy and CCG.
In my own time, I love spending time with my family and Golden Retriever or at ((Bounce)).

I work as a Portfolio GP so that I can balance a number of roles which include being a salaried GP, an appraiser, a PLAB 2 examiner, a judicial role and a medical examiner. I enjoy working on my allotment outside of work.

Evgenia Katsoni

I am a GP with a specialist interest in mental health currently dividing my time between GP clinical work, Memory assessments and an Associate Tutor/ Facilitator role within Brighton and Sussex Medical School. I took a 2 year fellowship that involved an academic module in Simulation and I have organised simulation sessions mainly in mental health for GP trainees. The feedback has always been very positive and encouraging hence why I was keen to be involved with the Simulation Faculty. In terms of non academic or clinic interests I am passionate about sport and in my spare time I do a lot of running and have recently been exploring triathlon. I am currently training for a long distance triathlon (half ironman distance).

Currently a GP Registrar and trained in Sheffield and Tunbridge Wells. I support medical students with simulation for examination and teaching purposes. Outside of work I enjoy long hikes, independent cinemas and I am currently reading my way through the BBC’s poll of the nation’s 200 favourite books.

I am a GP based in Bexley. I have been involved in medical education throughout my career. After experiencing what a fantastic educational tool simulation can be in secondary care. I am hugely excited to be part of the faculty and deliver simulation training for primary care colleagues.

I’m a Paramedic Practitioner working at Cranleigh Medical Practice. I have a keen interest in simulation training after having completed a lot of sessions prior to my deployment to Afghanistan as a military reservist paramedic.

I am a GP and new simulation fellow working in West Sussex. I am working on a project to help GP trainees prepare for their new SCA exam through simulation and am excited to join the team in running primary care emergency simulation scenarios locally. I am developing a special interest in women’s health and love sports and the sea.

I am a GPN in West Kent and I love being a practice nurse. My BScN (Hons) is from the USA but this is my home now. I keep life interesting by being involved in a variety of different roles, including simulation, which is great fun and often surprising what you learn. Outside of work, my gorgeous dog takes up a bit of my time exercising and I am attempting to learn gardening.

I am a nurse working in Primary Care in West Kent.

I’ve been part of the Simulation Faculty for the last 2 years. I enjoy being part of a growing multi-professional team. I am mum to 3 young adults and busy looking after my menagerie of animals. I am an amateur violinist playing locally in Kent.

I am a Locum GP based in West Kent and have been with the faculty since 2022. I also help run the HEE Training Hub Peer-Mentoring scheme for Primary Care, as well as practicing as a Lifestyle Medicine Physician and Clinical Hypnotherapist. As well as supporting the Emergencies in Primary Care sessions, I am really interested in the role of Simulation in Communication Skills and Mental Health Training.

I am a salaried GP at Gravesend, prior to that I was a registrar In Gynaecology so unsurprisingly women’s Heath is my area of interest as well as medical education for which I hold a Masters degree. I enjoy teaching, dancing and playing with my little ones!

I am Practice Development Facilitator with the Sussex Training Hub based In West Sussex . My first experience with simulation was in secondary care where I facilitated simulation training for newly qualified multi-professionals. I joined the training Hub and was given the opportunity to be involved with the KSS Simulation Faculty . This has provided me with the opportunity to have a better understanding of Primary care develop, adapt my skills and sharing knowledge with a multi-professional team to deliver Simulation training across KSS.
