KSS Geriatric Medicine RTD – Movement disorders

Details: This is a part Hybrid event, trainees who register for this event will receive a MS Teams link closer to the event.
Update: Please note that part of this RTD can be accessed virtually. The ‘Patient session’ is only at the in person event, held at the end of the Regional training day.
Please note if coming in person, refreshments (snacks and coffee etc) are provided – organiser recommend attendees bring their lunch. There is a small shop where food can be bought.

Draft programme:
9:30 welcome and waiting for people to arrive / join and coffee/ breakfast for those coming in person
10:00 – Parkinson’s disease presentation and discussion (focusing on medications)
10:45/11:00 until 12:30 ish – Case presentations and discussions by SpRs (PD psychosis, Lewy Body Dementia, PSP and Swallowing difficulties in PD)
Lunch 12:30 to 1:30
1:30 – Physiotherapy in PD
2:00 – Patient stories – 4 patients and PD nurses presenting and discussing their Parkinson’s disease journey (inc patient with DBS) and if time PD nurses will present on PKG
